Deviants
--------

When certain mages reach a high enough level in their studies of the
arcane arts secrets are revealed to them that many other mortals could
never fathom.  Some of these mages decide to join those that fight to
expose these secrets to the rest of the realm.  These high level mages
who become matricists are known as deviants.

A deviant can improve his or her skills through use.
