The Half-elves are the result of crossbreeding between Humans and Elves. This 
is often due to Human raids on an Elven village, or the opposite, however
every now and then a Human and Elf may find happiness together. Due to their 
heritage, they tend to be not socially accepted by either race.

This does not mean they are rejected, mind you, but they are merely tolerated
without respect. This can be very frustrating for many of the Half-elves, and it
tends to create division within the race. Some want the respect and honor they
feel is due to them and some just don't want to cause trouble, feeling it is
better to do as well as they can for themselves without worrying about what
others may think.

Despite their less-than perfect reputation and history, the Half-elves are a 
very worthy race. Employing many of the best characteristics of both Humans and 
Elves; they are sturdy, intelligent, and somewhat dextrous. They are also 
quite attractive.

Their placement in the world threatens to both Elves, and Humans due to their
physical prowess, cunning wit, and innate magical abilities. More than
often, a Half-elf will join a clan looking for acceptance. This has made the
Half-elf one of the strongest races in the realm.

However, their natural sense of loneliness and often rejection from other
races have been known to cause the quick destruction of a city due to the
violent nature that this race strives to overcome.

Much like full-blooded Elves, Half-elves are trained at a young age by their
family and are able to use bows and eventually crossbows to shoot their enemies,
regardless of their chosen class.
